A luxury yoga escape to indulge and delight all the senses.

This is more than a retreat. It’s a quintessential yoga escape, a culinary celebration, and a cultural immersion with all the bells and whistles. La Cura, Spanish for The Cure, is an architecturally designed estate, beautifully restored from a traditional Catalan Masia in Northern Spain. A five-star haven for wellness and restoration. This will be your ultimate escape to restore balance and indulge in life’s luxuries.

Together, we will unwind, reconnect, and “retreat” ourselves. We love yoga, we love to travel, and creating magic that happens only on a retreat!

Your Teachers & Hosts

Amy and Janet are yogis, teachers, wanderlusters, and lovers of life.

These two are dedicated teachers, students and world travellers. When then aren’t planning yoga classes, they are planning their next holiday.

When it comes to yoga, their practices are strong, creative, and always a bit cheeky! Both of these experienced teachers ooze kindness in every conversation and interaction they have with the people around them. They are inclusive and believe every student and person in the room deserves to be seen. You will feel at home in their presence and inspired to live your life to the fullest.

They are also passionate about travelling, exploring the world and believe the best escape is all about balance on and off the mat. Expect to be fully immersed, escape the daily hustle, feel balanced and nourished with a spice of adventure!

We can’t wait to hang out with you!

The Destination

Our luxury estate is located just outside of Girona, 90 Minutes from Barcelona in Northern Spain

When you think of Barcelona, you think of sophistication, passion, creativity, art, history, progression, and the list goes on. This unique culture is mirrored across the entire region of Catalunya, creating a vibrant way of living and our retreat setting mixes this with the lifestyle of the Spanish countryside.

La Cura itself is a unique wellness retreat, full of history that has been thoughtfully reimagined with modern design and architectural renovation to create an environment of beautiful understated luxury. A place for inner reflection, connection and re-balancing.

There is a 16-metre salt-based pool with outdoor lounges, a sauna, and a Japanese Ofuro hot tub to enjoy between yoga classes. And you might even indulge yourself in an onsite spa treatment with the local experts.

The magical location offers seclusion and wanderlust, providing a true sanctuary in which to escape the pressures of busy life and explore the sights and sounds of this beautiful country.

Fresh Foodie Experience

Just like yoga, a good meal nourishes all the senses and brings people together.

La Cura is intimately connected with nature. The organic kitchen garden provides the key ingredients for our gastronomic concept, a farm-to-table approach that centers around homegrown organic food.

We are so excited to partner with Vicky, a private chef specialising in plant-based cuisine. As the estate is located on a restored farm, amongst 40 acres of walnut trees and hops, Vicky will be using produce grown onsite and fresh, locally sourced ingredients to curate our vegetarian menu. All the ingredients for the menu will be fresh, natural and local products, free of gluten, refined sugars and lactose. While the dishes will be primarily plant-based, eggs (from hens onsite!) and cheese will also be on the menu.

Daily we will have brunch, light lunch, and an evening feast with all the Mediterranean flavours and delights. We believe in balance, so you can expect healthy, vibrant cooking, as well as moments to indulge your taste buds.

Find Balance

The yoga studio embraces heritage and neutral colours. The perfect space to dive deep into the practice.

With hardwood floors and a modern feel, you will be immersed not just in the practice of yoga but also in the natural surroundings. Just like our yoga practice, La Cura embraces history and tradition, with a cosy and welcoming feel. The yoga studio is framed by a beautiful courtyard garden and has high lofted ceilings. The open-door concept allows for fresh air flow throughout the space. You will feel at ease in this natural setting, perfectly curated for you to feel at one with the surroundings and yourself.

Yoga Styles

Dynamic Flow

A strong, alignment-based vinyasa practice. Through intelligent sequencing, informed alignment, and yogic wisdom, students are encouraged to slow down and experience every moment of their lives. Our morning practices will be challenging and awakening, yet accessible for all levels.

Yin Yoga

Long, slow, and deep is one way to describe yin yoga. Postures are low to the ground and are held for longer periods of time to bring stillness and restoration to the body and mind. We believe in the balance, ease, and wholeness that Yin brings to students. These practices give you time to rest and digest and drop into a state of deep relaxation.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is the practice of using different sounds and instruments to create a deep connection with yourself, and your intuition and improve your emotional well-being. Amy will guide you through sound healing sessions using pure quartz crystal singing bowls, incorporating mediation techniques, and using mantra and intention setting to allow you to dive deep into relaxation. Sound healing baths will be practised lying down using props to support the body, offering a space to rest, unwind and heal through the frequency of sound.

Gimme More

Throughout the week we will include a special yoga workshop as well as sprinkle in pranayama and meditation experiences for a complete practice.

Explore the Cultural Surroundings

This retreat will be a cultural immersion in everything the area has to offer. Within just 20 minutes, you can be in the historic town of Girona, famous for its medieval walls, winding cobblestone streets, and Europe’s oldest and best-preserved Jewish quarters. We recommend wandering the streets and having a ‘cafe con leche’ in the Placa Independencia to enjoy a bit of people-watching. A little bit further north of Girona, a visit to the Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres is a must for the art aficionados.

And for those who prefer the beach over an urban escape, our retreat is just 20 minutes from the beaches of Costa Brava. This untamed and unspoilt coastline is famous for its turquoise blue waters and romantic beaches.

The area really has something for everyone. Urban life, countryside, beaches and museums. All just a stone’s throw from Barcelona which is the perfect place to book end for your retreat for an urban escape.

FAQs

Who is this retreat for?

Our retreats are available to anyone who is wanting to take a week off from their busy life and experience a week of yoga, nourishing food and connect with like minded people in the most dreamy places. Whether you’re a regular practitioner or new to yoga, you’re all welcome and will be fully supported. We will be moving our bodies a lot on retreat so please let us know in your booking form if you have any injuries, health conditions or recent surgeries so we can cater for you.

Do I need to have a regular yoga practice to attend?

All of our retreats are availale to the beginner yogi to the advanced and the non-yogi partner or friend that is brand new to yoga. We are all about inclusivity and inspiring people to live their lives to the fullest in a healthy way.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely! A yoga retreat is a great place to make new friends and meet like minded people. You are welcome to book a single room or we can pair you up with other solo travellers for a shared room if available. If for some reason there is no one to pair you with for a shared room, you would need to pay for a single room.

How many people will be on the retreat?

The group size varies depending on the destination and venue. Typically our experiences average between 12 - 20 students and ensure the perfect teacher to studio ratio so everyone feels supported and connected. The more students, the more teachers. We love to create an intimate environment to create community while still giving you the freedom to be able to do your own thing when you like.

What food can I expect on retreat?

Only the best! We love food and it is such an important part of the retreat experience. We work with our venues to curate a beautiful menu of fresh and local cuisines. Typically meals are communal and a time to connect and share. If you have any dietary or medical considerations, please let us know in your booking form.

Are flight and airport transfers included?

Flights and transfers are not included in the retreat price unless otherwise specified for your destination.

How do I get to the retreat venue?

We suggest to fly into Barcelona (90 minutes from venue) or Girona (20 minutes from venue).

How do I secure my space for the retreat?

For each retreat we require you to submit your booking form and make a non-refundable deposit to secure your space. Please follow the booking buttons above.

What should I bring?

We will provide you with a suggested packing list for each retreat. We always recommend a swimsuit, sunscreen, hat, walking shoes, journal, reusable water bottle and of course, comfortable athletic wear for duration of your retreat. We will let you know if you need to bring a yoga mat and props or if they will be provided by the venue.

Can I come early or stay longer at the venue?

We love when retreaters extend their retreat into a longer holiday! Staying onsite is dependent on what the venue allows. We will let you know when you book if this is available.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Please read our cancellation policy located on the booking form carefully prior to booking and paying for your €500 non-refundable deposit.

I have more questions, how do I get in touch?

We love questions! Please email us at hello@nectarflows.com and we will provide all the answers.

This was my first yoga retreat. I don’t practice yoga on a regular basis and I was shocked at how i adapted to the direction which was pivitol for a non-yoga person to not only enjoy it but to realize that I need this in my life. I felt amazing after the sessions and want to spend more time with these amazing ladies. They are so loving and caring and patient. I WILL BE BACK. I am thinking Tuscany!
— Vickie

Kind, committed, inclusive and humble! The perfect combination for a yoga experience no matter your level. Janet and Amy have such a calming and supportive energy. I wished there was a Nectar Island I could live on!
