Move, Nourish & Connect with Lucy Lord

Join Lucy Lord & Nectar Retreats in Somerset for a long weekend retreat to move, nourish and connect in nature.

We are so excited to partner with Lucy Lord and bring together all of her loves, into the most nourishing and inclusive retreat experience, centred around good movement, good food, and good people. This is the perfect Spring escape to reset and nourish your body, mind and heart. There is power in stepping away from the daily grind to reconnect and give back to yourself. We can’t wait to share this yoga and foodie escape, together in nature.

Located outside the quaint town of Frome in Somerset, UK, this long weekend escape in the countryside speaks to the soul. You will be totally immersed in nature with hikes available from your doorstep, enjoy abundant farm-to-table feasts, and be nourished with movement practices and sound healing. A retreat to escape the hustle and bustle, restore your body and reconnect with nature. Together, we will unwind, reconnect, and “retreat” ourselves. We love yoga, we love to travel to dreamy places and create magic that happens only on a retreat!

The Destination

The retreat is located near picturesque Frome, surrounded by lakes, forests and countryside.

Our retreat home is the beautiful 42 Acres. Just imagine - wild surroundings, quietly luxurious accommodation, deeply nourishing meals, and lovingly-held experiences designed to support you to consciously slow down and rediscover your place in the interconnectedness of all things. While it’s only a 1hr 30min train ride from London Paddington, you will feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Let’s get out of our heads and back into nature.

At its core, 42 Acres continues to invite people to reconnect with nature, self and others. As a working, regenerative farm, the land is allowed to rest, restore, renourish, and rewild. This is an invitation for you to do the same.

Ultimately, retreats are places of self-love. They are dedicated places of permission. We wanted to create such a space. A space that celebrated aliveness. A space that was influenced and inspired by the divine wisdom of nature. That was built on the principles of co-creation through living in harmony with self, nature and others.” - Founders of 42 Acres Retreat

Your Host Lucy Lord

Lucy is a cook, baker, yogi, friend, and human.

If you haven’t met Lucy Lord and her lovely corner of the internet, let us introduce you! She is known to most as a recipe developer, food stylist, food photographer and Sunday Times Bestselling author, but to us, she is pure sunshine in human form. Her passions for food, travel, yoga, and life are no secret, nor is her addiction to retreats! She has been on over 17 to be exact. She is so passionate about well-rounded living, that she created Menu, an online video platform that brings people together through movement, food, and creative events. Your Movement Guides

Amy and Janet are yogis, teachers, wanderlusters, and lovers of life.

These two are dedicated teachers, students and world travellers. When they aren’t planning yoga classes, they are planning their next holiday. Which is why they created Nectar Yoga Retreats!

When it comes to yoga, their practices are strong, creative, nourishing and always a bit cheeky! Both of these experienced teachers embody kindness which floods into every conversation and interaction they have with the people around them. They are inclusive and believe every student and person in the room deserves to be seen. You will feel at home in their presence and inspired to live your life to the fullest.

They are also passionate about travelling, exploring the world and believe the best escape is all about balance on and off the mat. Expect to be fully immersed, escape the daily hustle, and feel balanced and nourished with a spice of adventure!

Find Balance

The yoga shala is a traditional Mongolian yurt, surrounded by nature to dive deep into the practice and find stillness.

You will feel fully immersed in nature and tranquillity. The space evokes a sense of timelessness. The calm, serene location will allow you to drop into deep relaxation, escape the daily grind and unwind with nature. We will enjoy morning flow practices and restorative evening practices to nourish the body, mind and soul. Classes are catered to all levels of yoga experience and you will feel completely taken care of. This is the perfect opportunity to begin, reconnect or progress your practice.

Yoga Styles

Morning Flow

A strong, alignment-based vinyasa practice. Through intelligent sequencing, informed alignment, and yogic wisdom, students are encouraged to slow down and experience every moment of their lives. Our morning practices will be challenging and awakening, yet accessible for all levels.

Evening Mellow

Long, slow, and deep to bring balance, ease, and wholeness back into your practice. A combination of yin and restorative yoga. Postures are low to the ground and are held for longer periods of time to bring stillness and restoration to the body and mind. These practices give you time to rest and digest and drop into a state of deep relaxation.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is the practice of using different sounds and instruments to create a deep connection with yourself, your intuition and improve your emotional well-being. Amy will guide you through sound healing sessions using pure quartz crystal singing bowls, incorporating mediation techniques, using mantra and intention setting to allow you to dive deep into relaxation. Sound healing baths will be practiced lying down using props to support the body, offering a space to rest, unwind and heal through the frequency of sound.

Farm to Table

If it’s a retreat with Lucy Lord, you know the food is going to be GOOD.

We believe a retreat is only as good as the food! And just like yoga, a good meal nourishes all the senses and brings people together.

At 42 Acres, food is life and each meal is made with love by their in-house private chefs. They aim to source at least 80% of their food from within 42 miles, which takes the concept of farm-to-table to a whole new level. You can expect bountiful, creative dishes made from home-grown and wild-foraged ingredients. They cook everything from scratch, including all their own pickling and preserves, ferments and cakes.

On retreat, you will enjoy 3 meals daily including a breakfast together post yoga, a light lunch, and a conscious dinner feast! Healthy, delicious food is the heart and soul of 42 acres and you will be nourished from the inside out.

We cater for dietaries and allergies, so please make a note on your booking form and you will be taken care of!

Food, Fire & Forest

A highlight of this retreat is our signature Food, Fire & Forest experience. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is an opportunity to gather and reconnect with the land, the people around us, and the elements.

A specialty fire cook set in an intimate woodland dining area, nestled in a clearing under the forest canopy. With open-fire cooking, beautiful hand-carved banquet tables, and a treehouse overlooking the lake. It is grounding, healing, and joyful. Your meal will be cooked over an open fire made with wood sustainably grown in the 42 Acres forest, featuring ingredients organically grown and wild foraged from the land.

As the sun goes down, the forest lights up and we gather around the fire for stories, music, meditation, and peace.

All the Self Care & Nature

This weekend retreat is all about giving back to yourself.

You're welcome to explore the land - take a stroll through the elemental walled garden, visit the woodland mushroom farm, or discover the magical tree house. Enjoy wild swimming from the jetty or explore the lake with our rowing boat and stand-up paddle boards. There are beautiful countryside walks to reconnect to yourself through gentle movement, fresh air, and nature.

Included in the retreat is a woodfire sauna session. This is a truly elemental healing experience - with flickering flames and the soft crackle of wood burning, you will invoke a sense of timelessness, peace and connection. With the option to take an invigorating dip in the lake or wild showers overlooking the forest. Or keep swapping between the two!

You will also have free time to create the retreat you want. You can explore the grounds, head into quaint village Frome, or simply relax and read a book. This space is yours to restore and give back to yourself in the way you know and need.
